Pine tree removal using speedline.

Posted by admin on Jan 25, 2010

Andrew and Will (groundworkers) had never used a speedline before, so nothing too adventurous on this occasion. Andrew controls both lines from the base of the tree while Will unties each branch at the landing. Neither Andrew nor Will could see each other so clear communication was imperative. A slender Corsican pine, a mornings work.

Bravo and cheers to you mate, another job well done, I love watching your vidz – you have taught me a thing or 2 – Recoats, you are truely an amazing tree dog – woof woof – lol, we still have a few good tree trimmers left here in The grand ‘Ole USA – but I’m worried about some of the younger generation tree trimmers – although some are very good an up and comming – others are being taught very bad and dangerous climbing tecniques – I hate seeing any of us tree dogs getting hurt out here !

Best to always talk the job through before starting….but that job was predictable enough for the guys to recognise and anticipate what and how things needed to be done, with only a little talking here and there. Thanks

The tree was …
The tree was probably about 70ft.. The speedline wasn’t purchased as a complete kit. You just have to use what’s available….in this instance we have 2 ropes, 3 pulleys, 2 slings, 3 Karabiners and a suitable lowering-device/rope-brake at the bottom of the tree. Thanks

Hey, love you’re videos! But there is one thing i wonder.. Do you use intercom or something? From your videos it sounds like you are talking just little louder than normal speaking voice. If i need to say something to the guys on the ground, i need to yell :P maybe my groundies just have poor hearing :P Anyways.. Awesome videos, keep em coming! Im watching them over and over ;P
