Dead Beech tree with a broken stem balancing high in the crown. Needs to come out as there is a footpath underneath it. Tree to dodgy too climb and we cannot get a cherry picker or crane on the soft ground…….Access ropes with throw bag and …….Q Suzuki SJ

Tim McPherson and Paul Stenning from Natural Balance We were doing tree work on tall radiata pine, 130 foot high with a heavy lean, base was about 4 foot round. Gave it a scarf with the stihl 066 of only 6 inches as the front was very square with pressure wood. We were about to prepare to do a bore backcut (to avoid barbers chair) when the ground started to shake and the tree started making cracking sounds-I raced for my camera and got the footage. No back cut done!
