how hard is it to grind down tree stumps?

We have many small to medium sized trees which we plan to cut down and grind the stumps in order to grow grass. (half the trees are dead) Is a stump grinder difficult to handle?
Driving a Semi Truck is not hard for a trained driver. Operating a stump grinder is a bit like handling a large rototiller. Louder (ear [protection), more dusty, Compared to cutting the trees down and bucking the brush, loading or mulching it up, the stumps will go quickly. Why not get a back hoe service and dig em up? No pesky regrowth, no settling.
I’ve seen our local council use a sit-on stump grinder and it seemed easy to use. The hired ones that are hand -held seem to be more difficult to use. With so many trees that need destumping it might be worthwhile to get in a gardenman to do it for you.
It’s very noisy and takes time.

Once you get used to the grinder it should be easy.Basically the same movements back and forth.A small grinder will of course take longer but cheaper for you.It depends how good the teeth are on machine where you will rent. Also what kind and how good they take care of it.Also have to get low enough for grass to grow.Definately eye protection a must
