Did my hairdresser do me a favor? What do you think? (This is a spiritual question. Read more.)?

Posted by admin on Jan 29, 2010

Yesterday, I went for a haircut and asked to have it very short. But the hairdresser misunderstood and lopped off almost all my hair. At first I was angry, but then something dawned on me. In metaphysics, there is a belief that a residue of your emotions is stored in your hair, kind of like the rings of a tree tell its history. They say that cutting your hair is a way of separating yourself from that emotional energy.

I’ve gone through a lot of stress over the past two years and I’ve had every negative emotion possible. I’m working on improving my attitude, but I wonder if this botched haircut is a blessing not a curse.

Could this be why women who divorce or breakup with boyfriends cut their hair? And which comes first? Do we get shorter hairstyles to break off from past emotions and "energy"? Or the opposite?

Have you or anyone you know had a haircut to make an emotional or spiritual break from the past? Did it work?

Yes she did you a favor. I don’t believe that emotions are somehow entangled in your hair, however, she did open your mind to new possibilities. Many people are so concerned about how others perceive them that they are afraid to take risks and chances.

While you didn’t consciously take a chance, the end result is the same. You as a person aren’t defined by your hair.

I guess the reason many people cut their hair or get a new hairstyle after a breakup is to try something new or get a fresh start. If the person they broke up with liked their hair a certain way then they would probably change it after they break up too.

Enjoy the new you!

Figure out this Math Riddle?

Posted by admin on Jan 27, 2010

The First Person to get the riddles get best answer but hurry this will only be open for 5 hours. Or whoever answers the most will get best answer.

Here are the riddles.

Mr.Hedges the gardener was building a vegetable garden. He selected a site which covered an area of 288 m(squared). He found that if he increased the length by 6m and decreased the width by 4m, the area was unchanged. What was the length and width of the original piece of land?

Two trees, and oak and an ash, grew together side by side in the forest. Over the years the ash grew to be 1 1/4 times as high as the oak. One day the woodcutter came along and lopped 3m off the top of both trees. Now the ash is 1 1/3 times as high as the oak. How highwas the ash originally?

Mr. and Mrs. Quigley just moved into a new home with a lot of land. They need to plant grass seed. The problem is that they are not sure how to figure the new amount that they need. At their old house, they knew that the lawn was 10 ft. by 20 ft. and needed 5 pounds of seed. Their new lawn is 100 ft. by 50 ft. How will knowing the amount of seed needed from their old house help them with buying seed for the new lawn?

1. 16*18 (16-4)(18+6)=(12)(24)=288
2. 15m. The ash was 15m the oak was 12m. after the cut the ash was 12 and the oak was 9. 9*(4/3)=12
3. If they know how much seed it took to cover their old yard and the area of their old yard they can make a proportion with the area of their new yard. 5/200=x/5000. Multiply by 5000 to get 125 pounds of seed.

is this a good first chapter to my story?

Posted by admin on Jan 25, 2010

My name is Kanan. I was an ordinary wolf before the incident. I am a black and white spotted wolf, my muzzle is black and the black follows the line around my eyes; so I look like a raccoon. I use to have a friend named Ajala. She was the only friend I ever had. I never knew why I was hated so much by my wolf pack, but now I know. I cant tell you my little story in these short few sentences, I must tell you from a point of many, many, many sentences. This is my story.

I laid in the filtering sunlight below the canopy of trees. It was fall and this was most likely the last day it would be warm. So I lay there soaking the liquid gold rays of sunshine into my body.
I lay far away from my pack, because all the do is taunt me and laugh at me. I never understood this. The only friend I had was a young wolf cub about seven months old. She was around my age but I was three months older. We loved to play in the orange and red leaves. We pretended that they were a forest fire, so we could not touch them. If we did we would pretend to get burned, and yelp in fake pain. Today her mother had taken her away from me because we had strayed too far, out of our pack boundaries and we had gotten attacked by a lone wolf.
The wolf was a ravaged and angered wolf. When he had spotted us we had only a few paces of running before he was on Ajala’s back. She yelped in pain as the wolf had ripped at her already torn flesh were she had fallen. The lone wolf must have been rabid or delusional. For it foamed at the mouth. I had jumped on this wolfs back and snapped its neck, when Ajala’s mother came lopping to our sides. She looked at me her lips curled back in anger and she snapped the air a few inches away from me. Her fur bristled so it looked like a russet red pillow that had just been fluffed. She jumped in between me and Ajala; her ears were now pulled back in a defensive position.
“What have you done?” Ajala’s mother Padma whispered. Her voice was as hard as diamond and it was scarier then having Padma yelling.
“it was an accident!” I yelped in my own fury at how Padma was treating me.
Ajala yelped as she heard her mother arguing with me.
“ You have no right,” yelled Padma. “to be friends with my daughter. Yes she may like you but you are but just a worthless cub!” her voice now in a silent hard whisper. Her eyes narrowed at me and I lunged. I lunged for my friends own mother.
“I DID NOTHING WRONG! I AM SICK AND TIRED OF HEARING THIS CRAP FROM THE WOLF CLAN!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME! I fell hard on the ground, for Padma had moved.
“you were going to kill me… I-if you only weren’t the daughter of the lead wolf. You wouldn’t have survived as a cub.” She paused. “And if I were the leader of this pack, you would have been banished from what bad luck you bring!”
I let my head droop to the ground. I had killed the lone wolf but I still wasn’t appreciated just because my friend had gotten bit and shredded a little bit.
“I’m sorry I have disobeyed you, I guess I shall exclude myself from the pack for a few days.” I answered my tail three fourths the way in between my legs.
“A few days.” Padma whispered. She had moved to my neck and she slashed at my shoulder with her huge paw.
“That is not enough for me! I will speak with your father. He will decide what to do with you.”
She turned on her pads and grabbing her daughter by the neck carried her back to the den.
***
After I had entered the den. Every wolfs eyes were on me. I heard faint whisperings coming form bushes and around bottoms of trees where the wolfs lay or stood. I walked to the head den and looked for my mother.
She was tending to a stag. Her fangs punctured the stags heart and she ripped it form its arteries. Blood squirted onto the forest floor. She looked up at me as I approached. Her eyes were full of sadness.
“y.. your father told me that he is sick o-of the complaints he keeps –.”
“let me guess.” I cut my mother off. “about the complaints that he gets from the other wolves of how I am a bad omen!” I yelled at the last words.
I crouched down onto my belly.
“dear, please.” She whined.
“NO mother! You don’t feel what I feel every day! You barley pay attention to me! Im sick of this! Im sick of the world!! That’s why I have decided to… to move on. You guys don’t need me anymore.” I whined in misery. A silver tear dropped down my muzzle.
“please.” My mother whined again but this time it was in a whisper. “don’t leave. I loved you my whole life its just that im busy, and I-.”
I turned around and headed to find some of last nights meat. My mother began to cry as I headed away. In place of my sadness was anger. It boiled in my stomach and it clawed through my now cold blood. I was strong then ever and I was glad of it.
I reached the storage place were we kept are meat. Two 2 year old cubs laughed at me when they saw the confidence in my eyes.
“So pepper why are you looking so confident. You might as well wipe that a

Crape Myrtle Training to make more symmetrical?

Posted by admin on Jan 24, 2010

I just bought three 6′ Red Rocket crape myrtles and had them planted in a line in front of my fence 13′ apart. They were kind of a bush form, so I pruned off all the little thin suckers and tiny cross branches about 2.5′ up the trunks to begin to train it in a more multi-trunk tree form. (Don’t worry, I’m very much against the severe "Crape Murder" tree topping and would never do that.) All the trees have 6 – 9 (approx. 1.5" in diameter) multiple trunks, which I love. I did some research and many sites said you should select 3 – 4 of the strongest trunks and lop the other off, but that seems very severe. Are 6-9 trunks too much?
My main question, however, is on two of the trees, I wish a few of the trunk could be slightly bent out as this would give a more symmetrical shape and prevent them from rubbing/being too close to the other trunks. If I stake a few of the trunks for a year or so, will this allow the trunks to grow in that manner or will they just return to their original position once the stake is removed? Any advice will be appreciated on the staking and correct number of trunks/reducing trunks. Sorry this is so long!

You are doing fine. You do not have too many trunks. You can manipulate the shape and direction of the trunks by staking them or even tying some of them together. From my experience it takes about two years before you should remove the stakes. Make sure to stake them before next spring’s growing season because thats the best time of year to manipulate the shape of them.
